This album is a revisiting of my years-long collaboration with @mnight, which resulted in some of my most treasured scores. I am thrilled to share the first single from my upcoming album, “Night After Night: Music from the Movies of M. Night Shyamalan”! The album is a celebration of my many years of collaboration with Night. It will be available on October 20. For the album, I created eight suites that include new and original material. I was lucky enough to work with the pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and to reunite with the brilliant violinist Hilary Hahn, who returned to perform her contributions to my score for The Village. I’m saddened about the passing of my longtime friend Mike Lang, one of the greatest session piano players of our time. Mike was a dear friend, colleague and teacher, gifted with monumental talent. Anyone who knew him would agree there was never a more gracious, humble and brilliant musician – a musician’s musician. Sending my love to his family and friends.

It was an honor and a privilege to receive an Honorary Doctorate of Music from Berklee, one of the preeminent music schools in the world. Friday night’s commencement concert by more than 200 singers, musicians, and dancers, was absolutely jaw-dropping. What an amazing weekend. Congratulations to the incredible Lalah Hathaway, the greatest drummer in the world Ringo Starr, and one of my all time heroes, Chuck Rainey, on their doctorates as well.
